Sam Thies is a Brisbane-based photographer and film-maker with a focus on socio-cultural storytelling. After originally studying multimedia, Sam pursued a career in design and art direction, and for five years worked in creative agencies in Australia and the United Kingdom. However, the pull to document anthropological narratives was too strong. For the past 12 years, Sam has work as a photographer and filmmaker documenting local and foreign cultures and the environments that shape them. Covering both modern and traditional themes, his visual studies explore place, time and human influence.
