For the inaugural issue of ROADBOSS, writer Harrison Hunkin, photographer Thomas Wielecki and videographer Jake Ashe undertook a gruelling adventure following a 60-metre road train to the hottest place in Australia with 85-year-old Mario Giacci, an Italian immigrant who has built two of Australia’s most successful bulk haulage businesses: Giacci Bros and MGM Bulk.
The result was a stunning feature story and feature video showcasing the incredibly innovative company and the world-class, Australian-made, truck and trailer combinations being utilised to haul Australian’s minerals riches from mine to port – against the backdrop of the Pilbara’s harsh but spectacular operating environment.
