ROADBOSS is stoked to have secured the immense experience and abilities of the Australian trucking industry’s most esteemed journalist, Steve Brooks.
The trucking journalism legend will join the team from the next issue and contribute multiple feature stories for each edition.
For a high-quality publication where editorial integrity and professional standards are among its highest values, attracting someone of Steve’s respected stature and professional calibre as an exclusive contributor to the ROADBOSS editorial team is a major asset for the magazine, according to editor Graham Gardiner.
“From the start, the ROADBOSS vision has been to tell cracking yarns about the icons, innovators and colourful characters that form the backbone of Australia’s dynamic trucking industry and tell those stories in a format and style which set an entirely new, unequalled standard in presentation and quality among trucking publications,” he adds.
“Steve’s understanding and appreciation for road transport and the men and women who keep the wheels of industry turning are evident in his innate ability to produce insightful and often evocative reports which have kept him at the forefront of the trucking media for decades.”
Steve Brooks’ career spans more than 45 years, reporting on every aspect of the trucking industry both here and abroad.
A formally trained journalist, Steve joined the famed Truck & Bus Transportation magazine in September 1978 and since then has carved a remarkable and passionate career as a reporter, editor, publisher and creator of several successful magazines.
As he is quick to mention, though, “There have been a few deviations along the way. Earlier stints as a driver and owner-driver, even a detour into the corporate PR world, are all part of the picture, but first and foremost I’m a journalist who still considers it an amazing privilege to write about an industry and its people who have intrigued and even fascinated me since boyhood.
“Being able to continue that privilege in a top-shelf magazine such as ROADBOSS is equally a privilege.”
